M=D—CONT=NENT RESOURCES  =NC _
818 Colorado Ave.
P.O. Box 1298
Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
October 22, 1991
Dan Mathews
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman
Room 215
Denver, CO 80209
RE: MR-35. Seed mix for road cut stabilization.
Dear Mr. Mathews:
Mid-Continent Resources proposes to use the following seed mix for
erosion control and stabilization on roads:
Seed Lbs/Acre
Creeping red fescue 1
Manchar brom 2
Slender Wheatgrass 7
Western Wheatgrass 5
Total per acre• 15
This is largely the same as the seed mix which we have been using
on topsoil piles, except that the fescue is substituted for cicer
milkvetch, and manchar brom for bromar brom. This is dictated by
considerations of cost and availability, as the Division wishes
Mid-Continent to proceed with re-seeding this fall.
Yours truly,
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Res.
