RUG 09 193 09:17 TO: 303 832 8106 P03
Vol. 10 Chap. 2S
Appendix C
Topsoil and fill material were removed from a triangular area measuring 85' x 120' x
1301, situated to the west of an area which had previously been cleared of topsoil in
anticipation of the expansion of the coal refuse disposal area. Such an expansion did
not occur, as a second refuse disposal area was subsequently permitted and
developed.
The topsoil material was spread over the area as a whole. Fill material placed at the
base of the hill was utilized to direct drainage from the hillside itself, and from a series
of seeps, to sediment pond 0098.
A ditch along the lower sector of the hillside was constructed to intercept water from the
seeps. Designs, sizes and certification of the ditch is attached.
A small area at the northwest section of the area drains to the west, rather than back to
Ponnd 0098. A berm and gravel filter fence have been constructed as an alternate
form of sediment control, and SAE demonstration will be made.
MR-39 08/08/93
