C-84-094
Dear Mr. Kubic:
This letter is in response to our phone conversation of June 29,
1984 pertaining to our NPDES Permit No. CO-0000 396-012. This
discharge point is referred to as the "Arctic Circle".
We have submitted a request to the Mined Land Reclamation
Division to delete this discharge point.
The two ponds (in series) at this location served as a water
truck filling station. The muddy water from the spill-over of the truck
and pump went through these ponds. We no longer need this water supply
area and wish to reclaim the area: that is, return to approximate
original contour and reseed and mulch.
The Mined Land Reclamation Division has requested that we reclaim
the area but leave the ponds in place. They say the ponds could be used
to collect the adjacent road ditch water. This is all right with us, but
we would not agree to keeping the NPDES permit in place or to having any
restrictions on the discharge of these ponds.
If you can figure out a method whereby this can be done, we are
willing to leave the ponds in place.
Please call me or Mr. Jim Herron of Mined Land if you would like to
discuss this.
Sincerely,
Uv
•a
DWBowman:ms Environmental Coordinator
Enclosure
Copy to Mr. Jim Herron
