RE : Mid-Continent Notice
DATE : August 14, 1985
Set forth below is the proposed text of the notice
which we discussed on the telephone. In accord with section
5 . 03 . 5(3) (c) of the "Regulations for Coal Mining, " 2 CCR 407-2 ,
at 327 (2-82) , would you please make sure that the notice is
published in a newspaper of general circulation in an area
of the mine site, included in the Mined Land Reclamation
Division' s monthly mailing; posted in the division office
closest to the mine site; and mailed to the permittee . The
notice should be published and received by the permittee at
least 30 days before the hearing date of September 24, 1985 .
If you have any questions or comments about the text of the
notice, please let me know.
The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Board ("the board") will hold a public
hearing at 9 a.m. (Mike - check time
with Diana) on September 24, 1985 ,
at 1313 Sherman Street , Room 110,
Denver, Colorado, regarding an order
issued to Mid-Continent Resources ,
Inc . ("Mid-Continent") to show cause
why mined land permit No . C-017-81
should not be revoked or suspended.
The show cause order was issued
following a determination by the
Mined Land Reclamation Division that
a pattern of violations of statutory,
regulatory, and permit requirements
