71MiG
eabodq
October 12, 2012
Mr. Musick:
Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC
RECEIVED
OCT 152012
Mr. Jason Musick Division of Reclamation,
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining & Safety (DRA)ning & Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver CO 80203
PO Boa 250
36600 Routt County Road 27
Hayden, CO. 81639
RE: Peabody Sage Creek Mine (Permit No. C- 2009 -087) Minor Revision (MR14 -12)
Wadge Pond Pump Facility Improvements and Culvert As -Built Information
Peabody Sage Creek Mine (PSCM) is submitting two (2) copies of the requested updates to the
Mine Permit (C- 2009 -087) as MR -14 to address changes to the Waage Pond pump facility and
update the culvert table with the installed diameters.
.Included with this revision is an update to plans for pumping water from the Wadge Pond. A
ramp will be constructed to allow easy access to a new pump system. To show this location,
Map 2.05.3 -M1B, Mine Facilities Map (North End) has been updated.
Map 2.05.3 -M4, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan has also been updated to include three
new culverts on site and show the culvert connecting the two portal sumps. The first of the new
culverts, SC -23, will be located near the upper warehouse. No design work is needed as it will
be the same size of culvert 64A directly below it, and only be used to facilitate access to the new
east bay door. The second culvert, SC -24, is a temporary pipe to allow water to cross the
temporary beltline to the portal sump. This culvert will be removed when permanent belt
structure is put in place. The last culvert, SC -25, is a seep drainage pipe. It is located on the
substation pad.
The culvert table in Exhibit 2.05.3- E2.G -2, South Facilities Area Operations Ditch and Culvert
Designs, has been updated as well. The table now includes the new culverts in addition to the as
built dimensions of those culverts approved in TR -04.
