QUALITY ASSURANCE / QUALITY CONTROL
Rule 6.4.21(16) asks for a description of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program and measures
to be employed during construction of the Environmental Protection Facilities discussed in Rule 6.4.21(15).
The quality control for construction of stormwater BMPs will include the submission of as -built
engineering drawings ( "As- Builts "). The As- Builts will be provided within 90 days after the stormwater
facilities are constructed and will be certified (signed and stamped).
Geochemical sampling will be conducted on ore and waste rock (run -of -mine) during active mining. From
the underground mine, at least one sample of waste rock and one sample of ore will be analyzed for
geochemical characterization (whole rock, ABA, and SPLP) for every 50,000 tons of waste rock produced,
or yearly, whichever occurs more frequently, during active mining operations.
The analytical suite is shown in Table 23 and includes whole rock, ABA, and SPLP of both waste and ore.
The SPLP analyte list includes all constituents listed in Tables 1 and 2 of the Colorado Water Quality
Control Commission Regulation No. 41 (Basic Standards for Ground Water) excluding biological
parameters, asbestos, cyanide, nitrate ( speciated), nitrite (speciated), chlorophenol, color, corrosivity,
foaming agents, odor, and phenol. The SPLP list contains the following constituents in addition to the
Colorado Basic Standards for Groundwater: vanadium, phosphorus, hardness, pH and electrical
conductivity.
The results of geochemical testing shall be submitted annually to DRMS.
4148B.120927 Whetstone Associates
