Evaporation from the surface and shallow subsurface will significantly limit infiltration through the <br />existing waste rock pile. After revegetation is complete, evaporation coupled with plant growth will limit <br />both infiltration and fugitive dust. <br />7. CLIMATE <br />7.1 Meteorological Stations <br />Climatological records are available from nine stations located three to 34 miles from the Mineral Joe Mine <br />site (Table 9). The Uravan station is considered the most representative of long -term climate conditions at <br />the Mineral Joe site due to its proximity to the site (9.5 miles), somewhat comparable elevation (5,021 ft in <br />Uravan vs. 5,900 ft at Mineral Joe Mine), and the long -term period of record (50 years). The closest <br />meteorological station to the Mineral Joe Mine is the private meteorological monitoring network located at <br />the proposed Pinon Ridge Mill. The station is of interest due to its proximity, although the publicly <br />available data span a limited period (Table 9). <br />Table 9.
