The Technical Revision addresses the implementation of a pumping system to temporarily draw down the
water from the adjacent land. The additional information submitted, addressing the new pumping cost, pump
capacity and estimated inflow appear to be in line with the Division's estimate. However, it appears a portion
of the 10 inch force main might be outside of the permit boundary for permit # M- 2004 -031. If it is, it will
require the submittal of an amendment to the permit to include this area, in accordance with the Rule 1.1(4) of
the Construction Materials Rules and Regulations. A new permit area map with the location of the structure
would assist the Division in determining the exact location of the proposed structure. As you requested, the
decision date has been extended to October 15, 2012. You prompt response on this matter is requested before
the new decision date.
If you have questions, please contact me at (303) 866 -3567 ext 8129.
Sincerely,
–CO
Berhan Keffelew
Environmental Protection Specialist
CC: Tony Waldron
Tom Kaldenbach
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango
Office of
Active and Inactive Mines
