Gold Eagle Mining Inc.
JD -5 Mine Permit Number M- 1977 -248
Negative effects on ground water resources from mining operations at the JD -5 Mine are
expected to be limited by the characteristics of the local and regional hydrogeologic system. The
primary source of ground water that could be affected during mining is the Entrada Sandstone.
The Entrada is separated from the mining horizon by approximately 100 feet of mudstones and
siltstone in the Wanakah Formation and more than 100 feet of mudstones, siltstone and low
permeability sandstone of the lower portion of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison formation.
Mineralized Salt Wash sandstone itself is relatively impermeable, displaying no open pores
during petrographic examination. The JD -5 Site Stratigraphy and Geologic Cross Sections are
shown in Figures 3 and 4 below:
6
Environmental Protection Plan -JD -5 September, 2012
