Gold Eagle Mining Inc.
Burros Mine Permit Number M- 1977 -297
The currently permitted Burros Mine Adit is located approximately 300 feet from
the Dolores River and all future mining activity is anticipated to be above the
ground water table.
3.0 Other Agency Environmental Protection Measures and Monitoring
The DOE requires the facility meet DMRS reclamation requirements at the
conclusion of mining and it is expected the Pending PEIS may identify other
requirements which are not known at this time. At the time the Burros Mine was
initially permitted the Colorado Department of Health and Environment had a
General Storm Water Permit for mining operation in the State of Colorado.
4.0 Other Permits and Licenses
DRMS EPP requirements ask for a listing of "any air, water quality, solid and
hazardous waste, and other federal, state permits or local licenses, or other
formal authorizations which the Operator /Applicant holds or will be seeking
applicable to the use, handling, storage, or disposal of designated chemicals and
acid mine drainage- forming materials ". Since at the present time there are no
discharges from the Burro Mine Adit and there are no surface facilities that
involve solid or hazardous waste these permitting needs are not applicable to the
Burros Mine permit. Given the current prohibition on activity enacted by the DOE
all other permitting and planning has been held in abeyance.
5.0 Designated Chemical(s) Evaluation
Chemicals that meet the regulatory definition of Designated Chemical will not be
used in the Burros Mine operations.
6.0 Designated Chemical(s) and Material(s) Handling
At the present time there are no designated chemicals within the Burros Mine
permit area. Because the Burros Mine has produced both Uranium and
Vanadium ore the mine falls under the DMRS designation for a Designated
Mining Operation. The materials that qualify for this special consideration are
limited to uranium ore, waste rock, and potential leachate from these two
materials because the use of designated chemicals is not planned for the Burros
Mine operation and the mineralogy and geochemistry of the host rock and ore
indicates that acid -mine drainage will not occur. Testing of mineralized rock for
uranium recovery or for environmental release considerations is currently
disallowed due to the DOE limitation on activities on the lease.
Exhibit U -2
