BANTA, Director <br /> June 14, 1989 <br /> Ms. Diane Delaney <br /> Mid-Continent Resources, Inc. <br /> 201 Centennial Street, Suite 406 <br /> Glenwood Springs , Colorado 81601 <br /> RE: Coal Basin Mines (Permit C-81-017) TDN X-89-02-244-2-TV2 <br /> Dear Ms. Delaney: <br /> As a follow up to our telephone conversation this date in regard to the <br /> Division's responses to the above referenced TDN, the Division is requiring <br /> the following to be submitted by July 1 , 1989. <br /> 1 . A proposed minor revision to the Coal Basin Mines permit either <br /> containing a plan, designs and supporting calculations for a drainage <br /> control system for the topsoil stockpile northwest of the present stage <br /> of the Sutey Waste Pile expansion to be installed upon completion of the <br /> construction of the Dile or a request for exemption of the stockpile from <br /> drainage control requirements and data that conform to the requirements <br /> of Rules 4.05.2(3)(a) and 4.09.3(3)(b) . <br /> 2. A proposed minor revision to the Coal Basin Mines permit that modifies <br /> Minor Revision 08 and commits to the placement of pond cleanings on the <br /> tunnel waste pile only if there is no conflict with the approved <br /> maintenance requirements for the tunnel waste Dile. (Mid-Continent must <br /> consider ,just what may be required in conjunction with future placement <br /> of pond cleanings so that surface slopes and drainage of the Dile are <br /> maintained and no surface depressions are created. ) <br /> 3 . A written commitment to maintain drainage from and to eliminate the <br /> Donding of water in the low area developed between the waste Dile and the <br /> hillside to the south during construction of the Dile. <br /> If you have any questions on the above, please contact me. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> James C.
