Mr. Robert Hagen - 2 - April ?g, 1988
The remarks to the TDN noted that "snow disposal is soaking (the) mine bench,
(a) practice (which) contributes to saturation. " The concern appears to have
been raised due to the mucky, wet condition of the bench area. The condition
existed due mainly to the freeze/thaw cycle that loosens the upper foot of
material on the pile and at the entire mine site. This is a surficial
condition that does not exist at depth and presents no hazard to pile
saturation or stability.
I hope this appropriately addresses the concerns of the Ten-Day Notice.
Sincerely,
Robert G. Liddle
Senior Reclamation Specialist
RGL/hm
Enclosures
6965F
