Permit Transfer <br /> Mid-Continent has indicated that it is unable to continue coal mining <br /> operations at the Coal Basin Mine and is interested in selling the mine to a <br /> buyer able to perform surface coal mining operations at the site in full <br /> compliance with all applicable local , state, and Federal laws. It is in the <br /> best interests of the People of the State of Colorado that it should do so. <br /> D. Reclamation/Stabilization <br /> Erosion of portal benches and associated haul roads is of concern to the <br /> Division, and measures must be taken to minimize, to the extent possible, the <br /> contribution of sediment from these areas to Coal Creek and its tributaries . <br /> -2- <br />
