At the present <br /> time and for the last few months, the magnetite plant has been <br /> undergoing extensive renovation and the replacement of major <br /> parts . The renovation project is expected to be completed <br /> about January 1 , 1985 . It should be noted that the cost of <br /> this renovation is not incorporated within the -cost estimate <br /> but has the effect of renewing and extending the remaining <br /> life. Therefore, the effective age was estimated at 4 years. <br /> The packwall plant was installed in 1982 and since this was of <br /> rather recent time, no significant upgrades have taken place <br /> and therefore , the actual age was accepted as the effective <br /> age. <br /> The anticipated life for all three installations was estimated <br /> at 20 years . Viewed in a composite context , the overall <br /> installation calculates an estimated effective age of 6 1/3 <br /> years which appears to be very reasonable.
