FOURTH AMENDMENT TO MORTGAGE DEED
TO SECURE RECLAMATION BOND

THIS INDENTURE made this /0 /(,day of November, 1983
between MID-CONTINENT RESOURCES, INC. , Box 158 , Carbondale,
Colorado 81623, of the County of Garfield and State of Colorado
of the first part and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and MINED LAND
RECLAMATION BOARD, Department of Natural Resources, State of
Colorado, 723 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver,
Colorado 80203 of the second part,
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, first party has entered and filed with second
party a certain Reclamation Bond in the sum of SEVEN HUNDRED
SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($765 , 000) , which was thereafter
increased by First, Second and Third Amendments to ONE MILLION
NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY-ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED NINETY-EIGHT
DOLLARS ($1, 981, 398) , and by Fourth Amendment of this date is
increased to ONE MILLION NINE HUNDRED NINETY-ONE THOUSAND THREE
HUNDRED NINETY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($1, 991, 398) , and this Fourth
Amendment to Mortgage Deed is intended to increase the security
for such Bond,
THEREFORE to conform to the provisions of the said
Reclamation Bond and the First, through Fourth Amendments to
Reclamation Bond, the Mortgage to Secure Reclamation Bond is
hereby increased to ONE MILLION NINE HUNDRED NINETY-ONE THOUSAND
THREE HUNDRED NINETY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($1, 991, 398) and the Reclama-
tion Bond, as Amended, together with the mortgage securing the
same, is hereby ratified and confirmed in all respects.
The Mortgage to Secure Reclamation Bond hereby increased
is identified as a certain Mortgage Deed from Mid-Continent
Resources, Inc. , d/b/a/ MID-CONTINENT COAL AND COKE COMPANY
securing Mined Land Reclamation Board, Department of Natural
Resources, State of Colorado as stated therein, which document
was recorded February 21, 1980 as Document No. 301803 in Book
544 , Page 32, Garfield County Clerk and Recorder' s Office and the
