HATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources of cow
1313 5rlermun St..Room 213 ( r oli
Der•eer,i_0 30203
Phone..303)866-3567 +1876+
FAX.1303)832-8106
Rov Romer
Governor
Michael B.Long
February 9, 1993 Division Director
Mr. William G. Boswell
77 South Center
Goshen, UT 84633
Re: Coal Basin Mine (Our File No. C-81-017) Bond Instruments
Dear Mr. Boswell:
The Division received a call today from Ernie Teachen requesting a form for submittal of a
Coal Reclamation Bond. Mr. Teachen indicated that the most likely instrument for submitting
this bond would be a Corporate Surety.
I have enclosed two copies of the form used to execute corporate sureties. Also enclosed are
Irrevocable Letter of Credit and Certificate of Deposit forms, which are other bond instruments
we would accept. The current reclamation liability is $3 million, and any replacement bond
should be executed for that amount. In addition to posting a reclamation bond, the mining
and reclamation permit will need to be transferred to your company. I have also enclosed a
form titled Request for Transfer of Coal Permit and Succession of Operators for use in this
process.
If you have any questions about processing these forms, please contact Debbie Mulloy of our
office at (303) 866-3567. If you have any other questions or require additional information,
please contact me.
Sincerely, t
Anthony J. Waldron
Reclamation Specialist
AJW/bjw
Enclosures
m:\oss\bjw\ajw
