Waldron
Reclamation Specialist
Division of Minerals & Geology - r_-
1313 Sherman St.
Room 215 jUL 1993
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Placement of Hay Bales
Dear Mr. Waldron:
As part of our reclamation work we are bringing a supply of hay bales to the mine site.
The hay bales are used for sediment control and mulch. We intend to store a
considerable portion of this hay at Mine #5, which we are reclaiming this summer.
As the areas which drain to the sediment pond are to be graded and seeded, the
placement of these bales will be outside the established sediment control system.
We anticipate placement of the hay bales on a portion of the old railroad grade right-of-
way, due east of the sediment pond, and just beyond the road.
I do not believe that a Small Area Exemption is necessary as the placement of the
bales will not disturb the ground surface, nor cause any sediment loss. Should the
Division disagree with this interpretation please advise me.
Yours truly,
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Resources
