Berhan Keffelew <br />Subject: ,Aater Treatment Facility at the Hogback Mine <br />Pursuant to our earlier telephone conversation, you asked General Shale Brick (General Shale) to <br />review the site maps to determine if the water treatment facility is outside of the Hogback Mine <br />DRMS permit boundary. General Shale has reviewed the drawings and has found that all of the <br />following are outside of the permit boundary: <br />1. Underground mine portal or adit where the water is corning out. <br />2. The treatment building and associated untreated water pond. <br />3. Treated water open ditch and associated pond. <br />Further. the entire water treatment facility is located north of the current DRMS permit <br />boundar\. <br />I haye enclosed the following maps for your review: <br />1. The DRMS 2011-2012 annual report map <br />2.
