Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> NA -Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> NA -Processing Waste Y -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection of the Bear No. 3 Mine conducted by Brock Bowles and Susan Burgmaier of <br /> CDRMS. Weather conditions were cloudy and cool,ground conditions were damp from recent rains. No <br /> reclamation or other mine related activity was observed at the site. There was recent disturbance on the lower part <br /> of the site,near the former shop and office,where poles and fiber-optic wiring had been installed. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> Records were inspected at the Bowie No. 2 Mine office. All required records were available,though some <br /> of the required permits (including the DRMS permit) and the liability insurance have expired, as noted on the <br /> attached records checklist. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05❑ Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br /> 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br /> Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br /> Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> The sediment pond was muddy on the bottom,but not holding water or discharging. The spring/seep was <br /> flowing into the settling pond,which was discharging into the North Fork of the Gunnison. The water in the <br /> settling pond was clear but tinted black/brown;the discharge was clear but its trail was stained orange. <br /> The berm along the North Fork was in good condition; no breaches or low areas were observed. <br /> ROADS —Rule 4.0311 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)11 Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)11 Surfacing and <br /> Maintenance4.03.1(5) and(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)11 Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The access road to the site was passable;no drainage problems were observed.
