As you can see, the Forest Service re-issued three basic consolidated special use permits in 1980 . One for roads , one for waste disposal and one for powerline rights-of-way . Since 1980 the permits have been amended several times to accomplish the following : Amendment #1 . In October 1981 the FS determined that their regulations require that Special Use Permits must have a termination date. Accordingly, they amended all three permits to expire on December 31, 1990 with the option to renew by notifying them not less than 6 months prior to the expiration date . Amendment #2 . To the Waste Disposal permit for a proposed new coal refuse disposal area below the #4 Mine . This plan was cancelled when the Sutey property was purchased . Amendment #3 . Name change from Mid-Continent Coal & Coke to Mid-Continent Resources for all three permits . Amendment #4 . To the Waste Disposal permit adding the overland conveyor area from the Rock Tunnel portal to the wash plant . This will no longer be needed when the land exchange deed to the 155 acres is received . Amendment #5 . Cancels amendment #2 . The form of these special use permits is a little tricky . Don' t forget to look at the sketch map attached to each. Also , the lengths of road and powerline rights-of-way are now shortened since portions of them are within recently acquired fee title land .
