-5-
1 - D9L dozer @ $144.29/hr. _ $ 577.00
1 - Operator @ $18.00/hr. = $ 72.00 +1000
a Total Cost $. /649.00 010F
5. Portal Area Backfilling
It is assumed that one half of the portal area pad is fill and one-half is
cut. Based on the glory hole and tunnel profile, a total of 8,300 CY of
material must be moved.
A D9L will be used to push up the material. It is assumed that the average
push distance is 75 feet at an average slope of 25%.
A D9L has an unadjusted production rate of 1 ,800 CY/hr. The adjustments are
as follows:
Average operator 0.75
50 Minute work hour 0.84
Grade factor 25% 0.50
Overall Factor 0.32
The adjusted production rate is 576 cubic yards per hour. At this rate the
total cost would be $2,337.00.
The total cost for backfilling and grading isr$199.096.00. A 'i ' 2
Topsoil Replacement
1 . Conveyor corridor station 4+00 to 34+00
Scrapers will be used to move the topsoil from the stockpile to the conveyor
corridor. A D8L dozer will be used to grade the deposited topsoil and a D9L
is required for loading the scraper. With an average haul distance of 1,500
feet, a 637D scraper has the following cycle time:
Fixed time - 1 .1 minutes
Haul time (12% total resistance) 2.2 minutes
Return time (0% resistance) 0.6 minutes
Cycle Time 3.9 minutes
In a 50 minute working hour, a scraper can complete 12.8 cycles at 26 CY per
cycle or 333 CY/hr. Three scrapers can be handled by one D9L dozer with this
cycle time. A total of 12,500 CY of topsoil will have to be replaced on this
section at the following cost:
1 - D9L dozer @ $144.29/hr. = $ 1 ,804.00
1 - D8L dozer @ $110.10/hr. = 1 ,376.00
3 - 637D scrapers @ $626.38/hr. = 7,830.00
5 - Operators Cd $90.00/hr. = 1 ,125.00
Total Cost $ 12,135.00
