I was out of town for several days and it was at my
office when I returned.
Thank you for acknowledging our waiver of the procedural
time frames contained in the regulations in connection with your
review of this matter.
Mid-Continent representatives are willing to meet with you
at any time convenient. As you are probably aware, Mid-Continent
fought a methane fire in its 211 longwall section return entry
which began August 16, 1990. This fire, which was intermittently
extinguished, was finally extinguished Friday, September 14, 1990.
Management is still busily engaged in the numerous details and MSHA
approvals of winding down monitoring and safety efforts and
bringing the coal producing sections back on line. I anticipate
these detailed efforts and approvals will necessarily remain the
primary focus for the next two weeks or so even if there are no
unexpected occurrences.
Very truly yours,
DELANEY & BALCOMB, P. .
By
Edward Mulhall, Jr.
EM:ab
