that they might specify to Mid-Continent that final reclamation would be mandated if the mine had not sold by 1992 . Has this been done officially and are the deadline dates specific? The MLRD also was in the midst of a mid-term review of Mid- Continent's State Permit. Has this been completed and does the revised permit address such concerns as the reclamation of the haul roads and the amount of the reclamation bond? Mid- Continent was scheduled for a show-cause hearing to determine if their operation showed a "pattern of violation" . Has this process been completed and if so, what was the outcome? MLRD was considering accelerating their inspection schedule for Mid- Continent in light of the closure. Has this been done? Has there been any further investigation of the usefulness of the Joint Review Process as a mechanism for addressing Coal Basin concerns in a comprehensive way? Finally, there were concerns raised at the March meeting regarding the quality of the 016 pond system discharge. Are there any further developments in this area? We have had no further contact with Mid-Continent since their Hearing before the County Commissioners appealing the amendment of their County Special Use Permit. We have met with the Forest Service and Lane Wyatt of NWCCOG regarding a study of potential improvements to the Coal Basin watershed and Lane is pursuing this.
