The <br /> MLRD also was in the midst of a mid-term review of Mid- <br /> Continent's State Permit. Has this been completed and does the <br /> revised permit address such concerns as the reclamation of the <br /> haul roads and the amount of the reclamation bond? Mid- <br /> Continent was scheduled for a show-cause hearing to determine if <br /> their operation showed a "pattern of violation" . Has this <br /> process been completed and if so, what was the outcome? MLRD <br /> was considering accelerating their inspection schedule for Mid- <br /> Continent in light of the closure. Has this been done? Has <br /> there been any further investigation of the usefulness of the <br /> Joint Review Process as a mechanism for addressing Coal Basin <br /> concerns in a comprehensive way? Finally, there were concerns <br /> raised at the March meeting regarding the quality of the 016 pond <br /> system discharge. Are there any further developments in this <br /> area? <br /> We have had no further contact with Mid-Continent since <br /> their Hearing before the County Commissioners appealing the <br /> amendment of their County Special Use Permit. We have met with <br /> the Forest Service and Lane Wyatt of NWCCOG regarding a study of <br /> potential improvements to the Coal Basin watershed and Lane is <br /> pursuing this. <br /> Please respond to these concerns and inquiries at your <br /> earliest convenience and let me know as well if there is anything <br /> we can do to address these issues.
