Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article <br />33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 24, 2012, an application <br />to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Bowie No. 1 Mine was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant Bowie Resources, LLC, proposes to continue underground coal mining operations on land <br />located approxilmately 3 miles North of Paonia, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Three miles North of Paonia. <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />In Permit Renewal No. 6, Bowie Resources LLC is proposing to renew its permit at the Bowie No. 1 Mine <br />for another five year term. Mining has ceased and reclamation activities are in progress. No changes are <br />proposed for the existing permit, permit boundary or disturbed area. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Paonia Public Library, 2 Third <br />Street, Paonia, CO 81428, and at the Division office.
