Crystal Valley Environmental Protection Association
Box 921, Carbondale, CO 81623
Eric Lane
Department of Agriculture
State of Colorado
Dear Mr. Lane,
We completely support the efforts to control weeds in Coal Basin. Our
organization has been active in the Coal Basin area for many years. We watch-
dogged the Mid-Continent mine when it was in operation, and have worked hard
to see that the reclamation dollars are spent wisely. We have organized tree
planting in the area, and in earlier years did a survey of the native plants.
With the mine now shut down, and reclamation in progress, it is time to
heal the land. Controlling weeds is a very important part of that, and we support
the efforts of the Aspen Wilderness Workshop in this matter.
Sincerely,
Peter Westcott
president of CV EPA
