STATE OF COLORADO
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE wOV CoP
Noxious Weed Management Program A„
700 Kipling Street, Suite 4000 *r j ,
Lakewood, Colorado 80215-5894 \ r
(303) 239-4182 876*
FAX(303)239-4177
Bill Owens
Governor
Don Ament
Commissioner
Robert G McLavey
Deputy Commissioner
April 3, 1999
Steve Runner
Division of Minerals & Geology
Department of Natural Resources
2148 Broadway, Ste C5
Grand Junction, CO 81503
Dear Steve,
The time has finally arrived to provide the Colorado Department of Agriculture with a
report that details the extent of your weed management efforts which were supported, in part,
with a grant from the Colorado Noxious Weed Management Fund in 1998. Your report will be
an important part of our efforts with the Colorado Legislature to maintain and possibly increase
the amount of dollars annually made available to the fund. Please prepare and submit a report
that will be worthy of such review.
We anticipate using your report as part of our budget-setting process for next year. That
process begins on May 15, 1999. Accordingly, the deadline we have set for receipt of your report
is May 1, 1999. I assure you that your prompt assistance will be very valuable. Please take a few
hours to reflect on your project and describe its accomplishments and failures as well as the ways
in which the fund has helped you and your community.
I look forward to receiving your report and will be happy to answer any questions that
arise as you develop your narrative report. Thank you for your help and I wish you every success
this weed management season.
Sincerely,
' k_
Eric M. Lane
State Weed Coordinator
