RE: Annual Report, Coal Basin Sediment Pond Reclamation Projects Stormwater Permit(COR-
040208)
Dear Mr. Moore:
Enclosed,please fmd the annual report for the above referenced stormwater permit. This permit is specific
to reclamation of previously permitted sediment ponds located on the former mine site. This report covers
the year ending December 31,2002. The annual report form is attached to the narrative that follows.
The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board has forfeited the reclamation bond of the former operator of
this site. Therefore,the Division of Minerals and Geology(Division)is performing reclamation of the
Coal Basin Mine as required by the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act.
In order to facilitate the completion of reclamation at the site,the Division obtained the subject permit.
Reclamation construction was accomplished in conformance with the stormwater permit requirements.
The Division of Minerals and Geology will likely apply for permit termination during 2003.
