Division of Reclamation. Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St
Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Action required to demonstrate compliance with requirements for intermittent status of the
Bachelor Syracuse, MMM In Permit NoM 1980 170 and M 1980 171. ,/
Request for intermittent status ( "is ") due to weather conditions. Ouray County prefers to leave
the roads into the Bachelor Mine unplowed so they can be used for winter recreation. This closes the
mining during the winter. The mine being closed during the winter prevented any operation during
winter months.
At the 3000' mark, there remained broken low grade ore. This stope was mined on a cut and fill
method, leaving this ore in place.
During the summer of 2012 this ore was brought to the surface and placed into separate piles, a
low grade and a high grade pile, to see if a profit could be made. These will be tested next summer
(2013).
In the summer of 2013 more work is planned on this ore.
These permits are connected as a unit. Permit No M 1980 170 is the main fresh air into the
mine and the mine tour, Bachelor Syracuse Mine Tour Inc.
Carl F.
