5
Burkey, Jason (BB Excavating)
From: ecorx @aol.com
Sent: Thursday, September 20, 2012 8:03 PM "+ JJ ll
/T
To: Kerr, Brent (United Companies) , Xil )
Cc: Burkey, Jason (B &B Excavating)
Subject: Re: Vader Pit (Sets north of and adjacent to "Sea Horse" at United Co. Gunnison East location
Bent,
Just finished up with the Vader /Seahorse pit. I found lots of canada thistle, a few plants of mayweed chamomile and just
outside of the permit two plants of black henbane (I sprayed them but this species spreads quick).
Total acres sprayed at Vader was 15 and Seahorse was 12.
Canada thistle is a creeeping perennial and is best managed in the fall as we did this year. I would expect a sizable
reduction in thistle by this time next year. I used Milestone at 6 oz per acre. I will plan a follow up Rx next fall to make sure
we stay on top of it.
Chamomile is an annual and will need to be treated prior to flowering. This will take two treatments during the summer to
accomplish. Milestone was used this fall.
Black henbane will need to be looked at atleast two times per year. The two plants that I found outside the permit area
already had gone to seed so it is very likely that next year we will have numerous plants to take care of. Telar will be used
next year at a rate of 1.5 oz/ acre.
I hope this works for the WMP for now. Once my season is over I will submit a more detailed WPM if needed.
Paul
Original Message
From: Kerr, Brent (United Companies) (United Companies) <bkerr @oldcastle - materials.com>
To: Eco -rx, Inc. <ecorx @aol.com>
Cc: Burkey, Jason (B &B Excavating) (B &B Excavating) <jason.burkey @bbexcavating.com>
Sent: Fri, Sep 7, 2012 8:49 am
Subject: FW: Vader Pit (Sets north of and adjacent to "Sea Horse" at United Co. Gunnison East location
Hello Paul - Attachment is recent Vader Pit DRMS inspection report.
Check out bottom of page 1, top of page 2, & 5th. paragraph of
OBSERVATIONS on page 2. To comply with report requirements please
write up a weed control plan for Vader including items listed - top of
page 2. Dustin mentions species he observed in OBSERVATIONS 5th.
paragraph. It would be good to respond to DRMS well ahead of 10/31/12
due date. Sent plan to Jason Burkey. His e -mail is:
jburkey @oldcastlematerials.com. I'll get accurate idea of permit
boundaries and place boundary signs.
Thank you,
B.
