The pen was revoked and the reclamation bond was forfeited in
1995. Site reclamation was completed by the DRMS in 1996. In 2005, the DRMS observed excessive bare areas
and that the revegetation had been overgrazed. In October 2006, the DRMS interseeded the site and contracted
with the ranch foreman to repair the fence and conduct weed spraying. Additional fence repair was completed in
2011 with the coordination of Lowell Inmann, the ranch manager.
During this inspection the weather was clear and warm. I walked the entire perimeter and traversed the fenced in
area. The ground was slightly damp in shaded areas due to a recent rain. Fence repairs undertaken last fall are
holding up well, the fence is in good condition around the perimeter of the site. Revegetation efforts undertaken in
2006 were successful; the site exhibits a diverse cover of sage brush, perennial grasses and several native forbs
including penstemon, aster and gilia. Remnants of rumex are evident. It wasn't clear to me if that had been
sprayed or died back for the year. Few if any noxious weed species were observed.
The sediment pond was dry. There is no evidence of any seepage from the sealed portal area or any where on the
reclaimed area. The surface is stable with no evidence of portal collapse or other instability.
Overall, the site is in good condition.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 3
