44
1
MR.
AMICK:
You said you hired an
2
independent survey
in 1999.
3
MR.
LEWICKI:
That's right.
4
MR.
AMICK:
Then 2008 the NRCS did
5
the soil survey?
6
MR.
LEWICKI:
Well, they didn't do
7
the soil survey.
They did
a re- evaluation of the
8
prime farmland.
9
MR.
AMICK:
Okay. And they came up
10
in 2008 with 8.4?
11
MR.
LEWICKI:
No. What they said
12
was, the document
that was
used to determine the pH
13
in 1999 had a typo
in it.
So in other words, they
14
said that the use
of the document
was correct. The
15
document was the Important
Colorado Farmland
16
Inventory, and in
that document
it said that the pH
17
couldn't be above
7.4.
18
MR.
AMICK:
Okay.
19
MR.
LEWICKI:
And in 2008 when they
20
re- evaluated that,
they said
that was typo in that
21
document. The soil
survey
was done right, and the
22
conclusion reached
was correct,
but we now know that
23
that document is wrong,
and
we are going to
24
reclassify the Morgan property
as prime farmland.
25
MR.
AMICK:
To me that doesn't quite
