1. PROJECT OVERVIEW <br />The Geisert Gravel Pit Slurry Wall project is located in Greeley, Colorado. The Site is located immediately <br />adjacent to the north bank of the Poudre La Cache River and approximately 800 feet west of the intersection of <br />North ll Ave and H St. The Site is owned by Weld County. <br />The slurry wall is composed of a mixed backfill consisting of selected soil and bentonite clay. This backfill was <br />designed and constructed to have a maximum permeability of 1x10 -7 centimeters per second (cm/sec) and <br />functions as a low permeability liner. <br />The slurry wall is 7,015 ft. long. The wall has a minimum width of 42 in. and extends from/or near ground surface <br />to a depth ranging from 38.5 to 75 ft., averaging 61.2 ft. <br />Lyman Henn, a division of Brierley Associates, LLC. (Lyman Henn) was retained by Hall -Irwin Corporation <br />(Hall - Irwin), to perform construction observation and testing for the project. Lyman Henn also designed the <br />slurry wall and backfill mix for Hall Irwin. Lyman Henn's previous deliverables for this project were: <br />• Geisert Slurry Wall Design Report <br />• Equalization Pipe Reroute Letter <br />• Dewatering Plan <br />• Periodic Leak Test Updates <br />• Slurry Wall 90 -Day Performance Test Final Report <br />The Contractor was Hall -Irwin Corporation. Construction activities were performed starting August 9 2011 and <br />ending March 31s 2012 and included: <br />• Construction of the working platform. <br />• Excavation and backfilling of the slurry trench. <br />• Reclamation of the site to existing topography <br />Daily work activities are documented in Lyman Henn's Daily Field Reports in Appendix A.
