MANAGEMENT
The DMRS' letter dated August 17, 2012 transmitted is adequacy review of the subject reports.
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, following are its responses to the DRMS' comments and
concerns.
DRMS noted that baseline data was not included with alluvial monitoring well reports for wells
AW -2, AW -15 and AW -16. These wells are located in the area of other monitoring wells which
either have baseline data or are labeled as being affected by mining before well establishment
and therefore monitoring events are considered operational. Please clarify why the above listed
wells do not have baseline data included with their respective report.
• AW -2 was first monitored November 23, 1996. It was dry or damp through 2000. AW -2
was activated March 27, 1997. Therefore, the only baseline information collected for
AW -2 was depth and elevation of the bottom of the well.
• AW -15 was first monitored December 29, 2003. It was dry or damp through 2006. AW-
15 was activated September 27, 2004. Therefore, the only baseline information
collected for AW -15 was depth and elevation of the bottom of the well.
• AW -16 was first monitored December 29, 2003. There was adequate water in the well on
March 15, 2004 for field analysis. There was not enough water in the well for a full suite
analysis until June 16, 2009. AW -16 was activated September 27, 2004. Therefore, the
only baseline information collected for AW -16 was depth to water, elevation of water, pH,
conductivity and temperature.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
J. E. Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: Wm. A. Bear, Jr.
