Stone Canyon Quarry, LLC
2493 CR 37 E
Lyons, CO 80540
Ph 303 - 823 -5659
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Exhibit L- Reclamation Costs
According to our mining plan, it is estimated that the gathering of moss
rock will occur intermittently over the course of the 10 years as the
seasons and product demand allows. This results in minimal disturbance to
the land. There are several existing roads on the property that will be
utilized for this purpose. There is a recorded easement across the lower
portion of the property that provides access to the property immediately
to the South. There is a driveway to an outbuilding off of this easement.
There is preexisting disturbed ground on either side of this road and the
outbuilding. This property has numerous small historic quarries that were
abandoned more than 50 years ago. Any moss rock found in these areas
will be gathered. Other than that they will remain in the state they were in
when the property was purchased in 2009.
The reclamation costs, unless a technical revision is filed and more invasive
quarrying of sandstone is begun, are expected to be minimal. The total
disturbed area is expected to be less than one half acre and will require
one day of shovel and rake work by two workers to loosen the compacted
soil and hand broadcast seed from access ways that are not necessary to
the ongoing fire mitigation and forest thinning recommended by Colorado
State University Extension Services and the Boulder County Forest health
Initiative. The access ways will be mulched on an as needed basis.
The costs for reclamation are expected to be $100. for seed on an annual
basis and $500. when the gathering is completed.
