Stone Canyon Quarry, LLC
2493 CR 37 E
Lyons, CO 80540
Ph 303 - 823 -5659
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Exhibit D Mining Plan text to accompany Map
The stone gathers will use the easement road across the east portion of the property
to access the area. Near the SE property line an access path has been established to
move up hill and West on the property. This access path will remain regardless of the
duration of the moss gathering activity. It will be used to facilitate the establishment
and maintenance of wild fire mitigation.
The moss rock will be picked up or levered from the ground and moved by machine to
more level ground to be palletized and stored until sold. The rock gatherers will be
instructed to mitigate any major disturbances they create and will be provided with
native grass seed which they will broadcast as needed.
No earth moving, water diversion or impoundment is expected.
Any part of the permitted area might be worked at any given time depending on the
demand for the product.
It is expected that the gathering of moss rock will be carried out intermittently over
the next 10 years solely dependent on seasonal accessibility and demand for the
product.
The nature of the product is such that it lies on the surface or partially underground.
As the moss does not grow on any portion of the rock below ground it is not desirable
to remove rock that extends disproportionally into the ground. In places the dirt will be
found under the rock being gathered and in other places additional layers of rock.
The commodity being mined is rock that has "moss" and lichen growing on it to be
used as a building or landscape material.
Explosives will not be used.
