WATER INFORMATION
EXHIBIT G
At it's closest point the Green Bros. Gravel Pit No 2 sits
approximately 780 feet south of the South Platte River, and one-
half mile northeast of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Mining will not
take place in the river and there are no creeks or tributaries of
the Platte that cross the property. The entire permit area is
located in the 100 year floodplain, but not in the fldodway.
The operators intent is to minimize the disturbances to the
prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land and of the
surrounding area and to the quality and quantity of the surface
and ground water system, both during and after mining and recla-
mation. We believe we will be in compliance will all state and
federal laws and regulations governing water and water rights as
the property develops.
This will be a wet mining operation on an alluvial deposit
of gravel. The ground water table is approximately 5 feet below
the current ground surface and will accumulate in the excavation
area. For this reason a Temporary Substitute Supply Plan and /or
Augmentation Plan will be needed for any exposed ground water.
A court approved Augmentation Plan (case #00CW0185) allows
McAtee Construction Co. to expose 5.1 acres of water, Hat the
current time there are 2.76 acres of water surface ar at the
mine leaving a surplus of 2.34 acres until additional water will
be needed. The approved augmentation plan provides 6r 1.314 ac-
ft/ac per year of net depletion at the mine for a total of 6.70
ac -ft per year. We estimate the current water uses at the mine
including, evaporation losses, loss with material and dust
control requires 3.628 ac -ft per year.
No new water surface, above the 5.1 acres, will be exposed
until the Augmentation Plan has been revised to allow for more
water area. A Temporary Substitute Supply Plan may also be used
while waiting for the courts to approve the amended Augmentation
Plan.
No water will be used for reclamation, nor will the revege-
tated areas be irrigated.
The pit will not be dewatered for mining, but a CPDS Permit
for stormwater discharges will be obtained. In addition, we will
be preparing a Storm Water Management Plan for the pit as pre-
scribed as part of the Colorado Department of Public Health &
Environment permitting process. The pit will be graded such that
all surface water runoff is retained on the site and all off site
storm runoff will be diverted around the property.
22
