OBSERVATIONS
PERMIT #: M- 1979 -221
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: BMK
INSPECTION DATE: August 2, 2012
1) The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site on 8/2/12. The site was not active at the
time of the inspection. Present during the inspection was Jason McGraw of General Shale. The site is
located approximately 1 mile North of Sadalia .
2) The total permit area for the site is 38.78 acres. The site was not active at the time of the inspection.
The pit high walls were stable. All the drainage from the affected area is captured within the permit
area. The overburden stockpile along the south side of the permit area was found in good repair. It
was vegetated and stable with no erosion features noted.
3) The entire affected area was walked and inspected and found to be in compliance with the approved
reclamation plan. The lack of a noxious weed control plan is cited as a possible problem with a
compliance date. However, there was no large noxious weed infestation noted at the time of the
inspection.
4) A permit sign was properly posted at the access to the property. The permit area is fenced. The
current financial warranty in the amount of $39,000.00 is deemed adequate at this time.
