OBSERVATIONS
PERMIT #: M- 2007 -013
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: BMK
INSPECTION DATE: July 17, 2012
1) The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site on 7/17/12. The site is permitted for a total
of 40.32 acres. Present during the inspection was Mr. Darren Gephardt the operator's representative.
2) The site was not active at the time of the inspection. A very large processed stockpile material was
noted along the west side of the active mining area. The pit high walls were stable.
3) The entire affected area was walked and inspected. Permit sign and boundary markers were properly
posted. Even though the operator had a statement in the permit application about controlling noxious
weeds, a detailed plan is not in place. The lack of a detailed noxious weed control plan is cited as a
possible problem, in the first page of this report. Some noxious weeds were observed along the access
road to the pit area.
4) A total of approximately 15 acres is currently affected. The operator plans to commence reclamation
once the current processed stockpile material is exhausted. The current financial warranty in the
amount of $24,000.00 is deemed adequate to cover the affected area reclamation.
