Yoast Access Road, there were some rills that should be monitored to confirm they pose no
threat to the stability of this section. Noxious weed populations continued up this drainage as
well.
Culvert YA -4a has significant downcutting at the outlet. Too much vegetation growth and
sediment deposition is choking the outlet and needs to be removed. The sediment came from
above the culvert. The inlet is in good condition with rip -rap.
Culvert YA -5 needs some fill at the inlet because water has eroded below the culvert and piping
could occur (see photo 7965). The outlet and drainage charnel appear to be in good condition.
Culvert YA -5a (crosses County Road 51D and runs parallel to Yoast Access Road) is in good
condition, but overgrown vegetation is choking the outlet. This vegetation should be removed
and the culvert cleaned.
Culvert YA-6 has new rip -rap at the outlet to help prevent erosion. At the inlet, significant
erosion between the culverts and the overlying road requires further stabilization work (see photo
7966). Past measures to abate the erosion have failed (straw wattles staked into the ground have
been torn out of the ground from runoff and erosion). This culvert system is situated at the low
point along a stretch of Road LU -3A. We discussed the possibility of adding small drainages or
water bars above both sides of YA -6 to divert water off of the road upgradient from this low
point.
Culvert YA -7 inlet is clear; however, sediment needs to be removed from the outlet (see photo
7967).
Culvert YA- Undesignated runs parallel to Yoast Access Road and is placed under a road leading
to fenced animal shelters and rangeland. This culvert is accumulating sediment and vegetation
and needs to be cleaned.
Culvert YA -8 has minor erosion on the right side of the inlet and some sediment accumulation at
the outlet. The outlet needs to be cleaned out (see photo 7968).
Culvert YB -1 is operating as designed. Road width at this location is 22 feet.
Pond 10 drainage with rip -rap is in good shape; a culvert in this area is a bit choked with excess
vegetation. The outlet to the wetland area is fully functional and had a trickle of water running
through it at the time of inspection. The flume and continuous recorder in the wetland are in
good condition.
Culvert YB -2 was in good working order, although the inlet of the culvert was a bit damaged.
Rip -rap installed from the outlet to the edge of an oak scrub area was functioning as designed; no
erosional features were observed. Road width measured 20 feet at this location.
