This
plan enables Moffat County Pest Management
and Cooperative Extension to provide Moffat
County landowners with assistance managing
undesirable plants on private property.
Specifically, under section 1I1.6 (Moffat
County, Book 646 Page 233), the plan states
that "Moffat County Pest Management,
through its office and agents, will assist county
property owners and managers in preparation
of weed management plans." All Moffat
County landowners are eligible for assistance
with the development of weed management
plans. Using the MCUPMP as a guide,
Moffat County Pest Management and
Cooperative Extension have developed a
program to provide Moffat County landowners
with additional assistance in the fight against
undesirable and invasive plants. This program
is consistent with the MCUPMP and offers
technical as well as financial assistance to
qualified projects. Landowners must be aware
that the county has limited funds with which to
manage noxious weeds. Therefore, the
number of projects may be limited due to
financial and scheduling constraints.
To participate in the program, a- landowner
must simply identify an opportunity to
implement an integrated weed management
approach in a partnership arrangement or
show that there is no opportunity for a
partnership. To be considered a partnership,
the effort must provide weed management
benefits to a minimum of two landowners.
Moffat County Pest Management and
Cooperative Extension shall not be considered
"partners" for the purposes of this program.
Following is a description of integrated plant
management as excerpted from the MCUPMP
(Moffat County Book 646 Page 232).
Colorado State University, U.S. Department of Agriculture and Moffat County cooperating.
Cooperative Extension programs are available to all without discrimination.
