It is proposed that the pit area be reclaimed as dry range land. The
reclamation work will begin by reshaping and contouring the pit and mined areas
to conform as closely as possible with adjacent lands and natural surroundings.
This work will be done by means of dozer, backhoe and front -end loader if neces-
sary and leave the area with adequate drainage and no bank which exceeds a slope
of 3:1 horizontal to vertical. The maximum anticipated depth of the pit after
mining is seventy -five feet. Any haul road within the permit area will be removed
and worked into the recontouring, the haul roads to private property will be left
and access as may be needed to other public lands from private lands will be left
for post mining use.
RECLAMATION PLAN
BLUE AT fV #, INC.
Topsoil will be spread from the stock pile over the entire affected area
to an approximate depth offour to eight inches. This work will be done ueine a
bulldozer and barrow and a uniform seed bed will be prepared. All disturbed
areas will be seeded, using a grass drill at a rate of not less than twelve pounds
live seed per acre with a mixture of thirty -three percent intermediate wheat grass, --r
thirty -three percent Russian wild rye and thirty -three percent western wheat grass.
This reseeding operation will naturally be done with the advice and in conformance
with the desires of the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation
Service and their recommendations will be readily followed. Natural regeneration
of grass will also occur within the area.
Due to the nature of the operation of an open pit mine and processing and
the planned .future mining, the pit area will be open till no more ore material can be
extracted profitably. At that time reclamation of the area will co is
possible to reclaim the mined area prior to the mining of the entire permit area._
that area will naturally be reclaimed as it is possible in conformance with the
method outlined above.
