Spike <br />Recommended Rates and Chemicals <br />Nonselective Vegetation Management Program <br />When implementing a nonselective vegetation management program, you must be very careful due to the <br />residual properties of most nonselective herbicides. <br />There are only two products labeled for use in irrigation ditches: <br />Glyphosate (labeled under many brand names for nonselective contact control of actively growing <br />plants such as weeds and grass). <br />Diuron (again labeled under many brand names for use on bare ground in dry ditches, preferably in <br />the fall since it needs incorporation into soil before putting water in ditch). <br />
