Kurt, As we discussed via phone and email, these substitutions are acceptable to the Division. One point of
clarification: the Latin name for Blue flax is spelled Linum Perenne, per my check.

Rob,
Colowyo is requesting to make the following substitutions /modifications to the approved seed mixes to be
applied to Colowyo's 2012 reclamation areas and is seeking your support in doing so as required by our permit:
Table 2.05 -7 Grassland Mix
- Replace Lewis flax with Blue flax at an equal replacement of 0.25 pls /acre.
- Reduction of Mountain snowberry from 0.75 pls /acre to 0.25 pls /acre.
- Adding Skunkbush sumac at 0.30 pls /acre to make up for reduction in Mountain snowberry.
- Reduction of total mix pls /acre from 12.0 to 11.8.
*Note - Skunkbush sumac is listed in Table 2.05 -8 as a pre - approved contingency, Blue flax (Linium
perenne) is not.
Table 2.05 -9 Sagebrush Steppe Mix
- Replace Louisiana sagewort with Small burnet at an equal replacement of 0.50 pls /acre.
- Replace Lewis flax with Blue flax at an equal replacement of 0.20 pls /acre.
- Replace Silver sage with Skunkbush sumac at an equal replacement of 0.75 pls /acre.
- Replace Rubber rabbitbrush with Douglas rabbitbrush at an equal replacement of 0.30 pls /acre.
*Note - Small burnet, Skunkbush sumac and Douglas rabbitbrush are listed in Table 2.05 -8, Blue flax is not.
