2.03.7 Relationship to Areas Designated Unsuitable for Mining
2.03.7(l )Unsuitable Designation Status. An environmental impact assessment prepared
by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) stated that the twenty criteria contained in
40CFR3460, published in the Federal Register July 19, 1979, would be addressed by
OSM and CMLRD (now DMG) in the Technical Environmental Assessment. OSM or
CMLRD did not designate any area unsuitable for mining within the permit area.

2.03.8 Permit Term Information
The starting date for the construction activities to begin development of the mine
was July, 1981. Coal shipment began in the first quarter of 1984. The mine has
enough coal reserves to last for about 20 years at the current rate of mining. More
detailed information is given in Section III, Mine Description and Section IV, Mine
Surface Facilities Operation Plan.
