A CAT
D -8 dozer, a Hitachi 200 excavator, and a CAT 980 front -end loader were used to process the
material.
Location
This Week
Cumulative
Comments
(tons)
(tons)
E.Cresson Clay Process
4,866
34,277
DCF processing is temporarily paused
Total
4,866
34,277
DCF processing is temporarily paused
E) Drain Cover Fill (DCF)
No work performed during the week.
Location
This Week
Cumulative
Comments
(tons)
(tons)
DCF Process
-
158,613
DCF processing is temporarily paused
Total
-
158,613
DCF processing is temporarily paused
F) Miscellaneous
No work performed during the week.
II) Underground Mine Workings
A) Discovery
During fill operation an Underground Working was encountered. The location was surveyed by
Ames and given a project designation of UG#4091 (Shown on Figure 2).
B) Drilling
No work performed during the week.
C) Remediation
Underground Working #4091 was investigated using a CAT 330 excavator and observation was
performed by an AMEC field representative. Excavation of the area was performed and it was
found to be a shallow surface working. The native material was found to be consistent and all
signs of a significant working were removed. The working was backfilled with structural fill in 18"
to 24" lifts using various CAT dozers. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a tandem axle
water truck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor,
passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique was applicable).
III) Geosynthetics
A) Geomembrane Delivery
No work performed during the week.
MEW Weekly Report WE 07.07.2012
