Grouting of missed (non -void) confirmatory drill holes was performed at Underground Workings
#4073 and #4074. A grout pump and laborers were used to place bentonite grout into the "miss"
drill holes.
C) Remediation
The crown pillar at Underground Working #4039 was removed using a CAT 330 excavator and a
John Deere 850 excavator. Observation was performed by an AMEC field representative. The
working was completely removed during excavation and competent rock was encountered. The
working was backfilled with structural fill in 18" to 24" lifts using various CAT dozers. Each lift was
moisture conditioned using a tandem axle water truck (when necessary) and compacted using a
10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times
(method compaction technique was applicable).
Remediation of Underground Workings #4040, #4046, and #4047 was removed using a CAT 330
excavator and a John Deere 850 excavator. The location was staked by the Ames surveyor.
Signs of a shaft or stope were encountered in the area during the excavation. Confirmatory drilling
will be performed for this working when a drill is available.
D) Structures
No work performed during the week.
III) Geosynthetics
A) Geomembrane Installation
No work performed during the week.
B) Anchor Trench
No work performed during the week.
C) Geomembrane Exposure
No work performed during the week.
D) Geomembrane Acceptance
No work performed during the week.
MEW Weekly Report WE 04.28.2012
