amee"
D) Remediation
Remediation of Underground Working #4016 continued as the fill progressed in the area. A CAT
345 excavator was used to place small lifts of overburden fill into the working and bucket tamp the
material. This was performed due the working being too narrow for the CAT 563 vibratory smooth
drum compactor to be used for compaction. Remediation will continue as the overburden fill
placement progresses in the area.
Underground Working #4049 was "cleaned out" using a Hitachi 350 excavator and observation
was performed by an AMEC field representative. The location was staked by the Ames surveyor.
Signs of a shaft or stope were encountered in the area during the excavation. Confirmatory drilling
will be performed for this working when a drill is available.
Investigation and remediation of Underground Working #4067 was performed using a CAT 330
excavator to remove the timbers and rail that could possibly be an old narrow gauge rail bridge.
The timbers and any unsuitable materials were removed and hauled to a stockpile designated by
CC &V.
Underground Working #4068 was "cleaned out" using a CAT 330 excavator and observation was
performed by an AMEC field representative. The location was staked by the Ames surveyor.
Signs of a shaft or stope were encountered in the area during the excavation. Confirmatory drilling
will be performed for this working when a drill is available. The working was backfilled with native
material for safety.
E) Structures
No work performed during the week.
III) Geosynthetics
A) Geomembrane Installation
No work performed during the week.
B) Anchor Trench
No work performed during the week.
Q Geomembrane Exposure
No work performed during the week.
D) Geomembrane Acceptance
No work performed during the week.
IV)Storm Water Management
A) Best Management Practices (BMP)
Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the Mill Site Earthworks project.
MEW Weekly Report WE 03.03.2012
