STANDARD METALS FEP <br /> i <br /> Field Notes by Wendell Hassell <br /> I <br /> 1985 Spriggjng Trial Tail in_grPond__ #2 <br /> June 6 , 1985 , 'Volga' mammoth wildrye , 'SuriLmit ' Louisiana sagewort , � <br /> and T-39732 (EPC-936) beardless wildrye sprigs were transplanted using <br /> Los Lunas PMC tree planter . Sixteen rows were planted , with row <br /> spacing at five feet . There were approximately 45 plants of each <br /> species ( 135 plants ) per 260 foot row. Attached is a map showing the <br /> plot layout on Tailing Pond #2 . The total area is approximately 1 / 2 <br /> acre . The area is "L" shaped , 90 ' wide and 270 ' long along the center <br /> line . Soil moisture at planting was good at about three in(-hes . The <br /> surface was dry. <br /> Sprigs were dug from the Meeker EPC the previous two days and <br /> transported with wet cloth bags . Approximately 1 , 300 plants of each <br /> species were put in on this site . It took about three hours to <br /> transplant this 1 / 2 acre using a crawler tractor with driver and three <br /> people transplanting . <br /> 19Q35 Sprigc_inq Trial _L gwer Pond ,Site ( located approximately 350 feet <br /> east of office building) <br /> I <br /> June 6 , 1985 , 'Volga' mammoth wildrye and "Summit ' Louisiana sagewgort <br /> were transplanted using Los Lunas PMC tree planter . There are seve►: <br /> rows about 170 feet long with a 4 . 5 foot row spacing width . An <br /> estimated 100 plants of each species were transplanted per 170 foot <br /> row. Ten Pine View plants were transplanted along the northeast <br /> corner of this plot area. The area is shown on the attached map . <br /> The above site was transplanted in about one-and-one-half hours . <br /> i <br />
