RECEIVED <br /> RECLAMATION PLAN bkl' 221983 <br /> ANNUAL REPORT (1978 - 1982) MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION <br /> Colo. Dept. of Natural Resources <br /> In October 1977, Standard Metals Corporation applied for <br /> a Regular Permit from the State of Colorado to conduct mining <br /> and milling operations at its Silverton facility in San Juan <br /> County. The permit application was approved by the Board at <br /> its regular monthly meeting on January 25, 1978. A permit <br /> was not issued at the time of approval however, due to ques- <br /> tions regarding surety arrangements proposed for the mill site. <br /> Reclamation surety arrangements for all affected lands were <br /> completed as stipulated by the Board and a mining permit <br /> (No. 77378) was subsequently issued in April , 1982. <br /> During the time period which elapsed between application <br /> and issuance of the mining permit for Silverton operations, <br /> reclamation plans presented in the permit application at Ex- <br /> hibit E were initiated on selected disturbance sites. Since <br /> a permit had not been issued, annual reports summarizing the <br /> status of reclamation efforts effected at the site during <br /> this time were not submitted to the Mined Land Reclamation <br /> office. The following report presents reclamation plan acti- <br /> vities completed to date on affected acreage at the Silverton <br /> site. <br /> The Silverton operation is comprised of the Sunnyside Mine <br /> and the Mayflower Mill facilities. The Sunnyside Mine is an <br /> underground hardrock operation in which shrink stopage tech- <br /> niques are employed for ore extraction. Targeted ores are <br />
