Ground Water
The ground water monitoring schedule employed during 1987 is
presented in Table 4 .
Table 4
Ground Water Monitoring Schedule for 1987
Site* Drainage Quantity_ Quality
TP3-04 Glacial Moraine Quarterly No
TP3-07 Glacial Moraine Quarterly No
EOMW-1 Alluvium Semi-annual Semi-annual
EOMW-2 Alluvium Semi-annual Semi-annual
Seep No . l Bedrock/alluvium Annual Annual
Seep No. 2 Bedrock/alluvium Annual Annual
* see Plates 1 and 3 for monitoring site locations.
Quantity Animas River alluvium, as monitored at the two EOMW' s
showed very little variation in water level during 1987 (Figures 1
and- 2) . Water levels in this coarse grained glacial drift deposit
within one hundred feet of the channel bank are to be expected to
vary in accordance with stream stage. Stream stage varied by less
than a few feet during the year, which closely matches the magnitude
of variation in the alluvial wells.
-20-
